    About PocketRx

You can organize medical information for your whole family using PocketRx. Keep all the details for each of your family members' medical history, physicians, prescriptions, pharmacies, and insurance policies. This allows you to quickly and easily find medical information for yourself or your loved ones when you need it. In addition, you can quickly and easily add your prescriptions to your calendar, with or without reminders. Prescriptions with reminders pop up on your device just like reminders for other appointments and tasks you create. This helps you remember to take or administer medication on time.

PocketRx allows to organize the following types of items:

    Patients

You can create a patient entry in PocketRx for each of your family members. If your pet takes medication, you may want to consider adding your pet as patient, too. Once you have added a patient, you will be able to add prescriptions and insurance policies for that patient. The allergies, medical history, and notes sections provide a great place to keep a running medical history for each patient.

To create several patients with similar information, create one patient and then duplicate that patient. You can then edit the duplicated patient to alter the necessary details.

    Editing a Scheduled Prescription

    Using PocketRx

You can use PocketRx to edit a prescription that has been scheduled (added to the Pocket Outlook calendar). Editing a scheduled prescription works the same as editing a prescription that is not scheduled. PocketRx will update the prescription in the Pocket Outlook calendar as you update the prescription in PocketRx. By default, PocketRx will prompt you if it needs to remove the prescription from your Calendar and recreate it. You can disable this prompt under the Tools > Options item on the main menu.

    Using Pocket Outlook

Although not recommended, you can edit the prescription calendar items that PocketRx creates using Pocket Outlook. However, any changes you make within Pocket Outlook will not be reflected in PocketRx. In addition, any changes you make within Pocket Outlook will be lost if the prescription is removed from your calendar using PocketRx.

If you have added a prescription to your calendar and need to alter several fields that determine the prescription schedule, remove the prescription from your calendar using the Remove from Calendar toolbar button, make the needed changes, and then add the prescription back to your calendar. This will allow you to make changes to the schedule without being warned multiple times about the recreation of the calendar item.

    About Prescription Schedules

When adding a prescription to the Pocket Outlook calendar, PocketRx creates a schedule for the prescription. This schedule is based on the information you provide on the Directions tab of the prescription screen. This page describes how the values you provide are used in creating the prescription schedule.

    • Start On. PocketRx uses this field as the start date and time for the prescription. This date and time will become the first occurrence on the schedule.
    • How Often? PocketRx uses the information from this section to determine how often to schedule occurrences of this prescription. The options include
      • X times per day
      • Every X hours, days, weeks, months
If you select X times per day or Every X hours, PocketRx will automatically create a daily schedule for the prescription that spaces the occurrences evenly throughout the day based on the Start On time, the From, and the To fields.
    • For How Long? PocketRx Uses the information in this section to determine when the prescription schedule ends. The options include:
      • For X days, weeks, months, years, or doses
      • Until a specific date
      • Always
If you choose the always option, the schedule for the prescription will not have an end date. If you select one of the other options, the resulting end date must be less than 999 days after the Start On date. If you select a date past this point, you will receive an error when you attempt to schedule the prescription.
    • Remind Me. If you select this option, the appointment(s) added to your calendar for this prescription will include a reminder. A reminder will then pop up on your device when the scheduled time arrives.
    • From/To.This option allows you to set a starting and ending time during the day between which PocketRx should schedule your prescriptions. This helps to make sure that your prescriptions are scheduled during your normal waking hours. Note that this option will only have an effect on the schedule if you select X times per day or Every X hours in the How Often? field.

If you select X times per day or Every X hours in the How Often? field, the Start On time that you provide will be used on the first day. After the first day, the scheduled times will be based on the option you selected and the From/To.
